Who we are
The Lot Youth is an affirming community for students in grades 6-12 in Kennesaw, Canton, and the surrounding areas.
We're a ministry of First United Lutheran Church, Celebration of Grace Lutheran Church, and The Church Lot. We're [ELCA] Lutheran, but you don't have to be. In fact, it's perfectly okay not to know exactly what you believe. And you don't need to have all the answers, much less know what questions you even want to ask.
We get together for a shared meal, make things, go places, try new things, and talk about stuff that matters. Mostly, we have a good time being humans together. Some things we do here may look like what you'd expect from a church youth group. Some might look very different.
That's kind of the point.

what we're about
Growing up is about more than having all the right answers.
We want The Lot to be a place where young people have room to practice being human while being surrounded by people who care about them.
That means learning how to build relationships. How to ask for help. How to disagree with someone without destroying the relationship. How to make a decision when there isn't an obvious right answer. How to try something new, fail at it, and try again. How to notice when someone else needs you. How to discover what you're good at. How to discover what you care enough about to do something about.
Faith belongs in this conversation, too. We believe questions and doubts aren't threats to faith. They're dance partners and part of growing into a faith that is actually your own.
We aren't trying to give young people a map for every place they'll go. We simply want to helpe them learn how to find their way.
What we mean by Affirming
When we say everyone belongs, we mean everyone.
The Lot Youth is committed to being an affirming community for LGBTQIA+ young people and thier families. Our approach to welcoming is modeled on the commitments of the ELCA's Reconciled in Christ program.
At The Lot Youth, we want you to know exactly what we mean when we say you belong here. We welcome people of every sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression, along with people of every race, ethnicity, culture, ability, socioeconomic status, familiy configuration, and faith background. We are committed to racial equity and to the ongoing work of becoming an anti-racist community.
You don't have to wonder if "ALL" includes you. It does.
